Police Hunt Man Over Fatal Hit-and-Run in Birmingham

Police are urgently searching for a man following a deadly hit-and-run on Newton Road, Great Barr, Birmingham.

54-Year-Old Dies After Hit-and-Run

At around 9pm on Friday, 8 September, emergency crews found a 54-year-old man unresponsive. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A BMW 520D, suspected to be involved in the crash, was recovered nearby.

Who Is Francesko Gajta?

Police want to speak to 24-year-old Francesko Gajta in connection with the incident. Sergeant Julie Lyman from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said:

“Following extensive enquiries and developments in the investigation, I am now in a position to name Francesko as a person of interest that we wish to speak to. I would appeal directly to Francesko to do the right thing and get in touch with us. I would also urge anyone who knows where Francesko is or is in contact with him to get in touch.”
