Woman Refuses to Leave, Hits Police Officer

The video shows a woman in a party dress and chunky sandals confronting a female officer. Despite repeated orders to leave, she refused and was pushed back. Two male officers then stepped in to restrain and handcuff her on the pavement.

A Met Police spokesperson revealed the woman struck an officer in the chest after returning multiple times to the scene. She was arrested on suspicion of assaulting and obstructing a police officer.

“Body-worn video confirmed the officer’s account, and the woman later accepted a caution,” the spokesperson said.

Bouncer Tries to Step In as Bystanders Watch

The tense scene saw a bouncer attempt to intervene but was held back by a colleague. Meanwhile, shocked bystanders watched the chaotic scuffle unfold outside the popular Soho venue.

Police Conduct Review Finds Officers Acted Appropriately

After the footage spread online, the Met’s Directorate of Professional Standards launched a fast-time review to examine the use of force. They concluded the officers’ actions were proportionate and found no disciplinary issues.

“Officers considered all available footage and concluded the actions were appropriate. No disciplinary matters have been identified,” confirmed the Met.

Public Divided Over Police Response

The clip sparked fierce debate across social media. Some branded the police response “harsh,” while others defended the officers, highlighting the disorderly environment and the need for swift action.

The incident adds to mounting attention on Met Police’s handling of public order in London’s nightlife hotspots, an area already under intense scrutiny.
