Royal Mail Axes Saturday Deliveries Amid Coronavirus Crisis
Royal Mail has scrapped Saturday letter deliveries across the UK to help protect the public during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. The new rule kicks in this weekend.
Six-Day Service Cut to Five
Normally, Royal Mail delivers letters six days a week, from Monday to Saturday. But under the temporary measure, Saturday deliveries will be suspended nationwide.
Some Services Stay Unchanged
The change does not affect Special Delivery, Tracked, or any non-account services, which will continue as usual.
“This suspension is temporary and aims to keep both staff and customers safe,” a Royal Mail spokesperson said.
