A murder investigation has been launched after the bodies of paramedic Daniel Duffield, 24, and Lauren Evans, 22, were discovered in a house in uk/topic/hednesford/">Hednesford, Cannock. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon.

Daniel Duffield, who worked for the West Midlands Ambulance Service, had previously appeared in an episode of the Channel 4 documentary series “999: On The Frontline.” The show follows ambulance crews as they respond to emergency calls.

Ellie, Mr Duffield’s crewmate on the program, expressed her shock and grief in an Instagram tribute. She described him as not only her best friend at work but also one of her closest friends, emphasizing his impact on her daily life. Ellie recalled a recent phone call with Mr Duffield just an hour before his tragic death.

“He was the most kind-hearted person who always had time to help others,” Ellie wrote. “I’ll forever cherish the dinner he made me the other week – surprised at how nice his fajitas were.”

Richard Barratt, a senior operations manager at the West Midlands Ambulance Service, praised Mr. Duffield’s commitment to his colleagues and patients. “His death, at such a young age, is a great tragedy,” Barratt said.

Staffordshire Police have identified both Mr Duffield, from Cannock, and Ms Evans, from Bridgend in South Wales, but formal identification is pending. The police officer involved has referred the case to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to recent contact with the deceased before their deaths.

Detective Superintendent Nicki Addison assured the local community that a specialist team of officers is diligently investigating the incident.
