A 17-year-old male has been apprehended by authorities in connection with incidents of attempted rape and sexual assault that occurred in the Wavertree area in December.
The first disturbing incident unfolded on the evening of Wednesday, 20 December, around 18.30 on Crosfield Road, Edge Hill. A woman in her 60s became the victim of a sexual assault, raising concerns within the community.
The second incident transpired on Thursday, 28 December, at approximately 19.00 on a footpath near the Liverpool Tennis Centre, off Picton Road in Wavertree. A woman in her 40s, who was walking her dog, was pushed to the ground and subjected to a sexual assault.
The suspect, a 17-year-old male, has been apprehended and transported to a police station on Merseyside, where he will undergo questioning by detectives to further the investigation.
