Driver flees after crash in Wootton

Police are hunting the driver of a vehicle after it collided with a wall on the Isle of Wight. The high powered Volkswagen Golf demolished the garden wall on Station Road near the Acorns in Wootton just after 12.20 this morning. The vehicle collided with the wall and flipped before coming to rest on its roof. The driver of the high performance car fled from the scene on and are currently being pursued by Police officers who have called in the support a Police search dog to apprehend the driver The road remains open in both directions whilst recovery of the vehicle takes place.
