Pensioner rescued by police after riding MOBILITY SCOOTER on M275 in Portsmouth

Stunned police officers found a pensioner on her MOBILITY SCOOTER trundling along a stretch of M275 motorway. It is believed that the woman drove the scooter onto the motorway from Mile End Road and just carried on going. The woman in her 60’s from Portsmouth,was helped to safety by cops who spotted on the Eastbound carriageway of the M275, in Portsmouth Saturday afternoon. Officers from Hampshire Road Policing tweeted a picture of the scooter and the message: “You are not allowed to ride mobility scooters on the motorway! Female now safely with Police and scooter recovered.” A police spokesman said: “Officers were called to the area following reports of the woman riding her mobility scooter on the hard shoulder of the busy motorway. The scooter was recovered by Boarhunt Recovery whilst the confused woman was taken off the motorway by Police.
