A woman has been rescued from a lake in a park near Mottingham Station in Eltham this morning, prompting a swift emergency response from the London Ambulance Service (LAS).
Paramedics were called to The Tarn, a landscaped garden and park with a lake located just outside the station, shortly after 11am following reports that a person was in the water.
Emergency teams, including ambulance crews, an incident response officer, and members of the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), responded promptly to the scene.
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said:
“We were called today (Mon 17) at 11.03am to reports of a person in the water at The Tarn, Sidcup Road, Eltham.
We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and members of our hazardous area response team (HART).
We treated a woman before taking her to hospital.”
The woman’s condition has not yet been disclosed.
Met Police: ‘Non-Crime Matter’
The Metropolitan Police confirmed they did not attend the scene, describing the incident as a “non-crime matter”, suggesting no criminal activity is suspected.

The lake at The Tarn is approximately 230 metres long and varies in width from 20 to 50 metres. The park is a popular spot for both residents and visitors, known for its gardens, wildlife, and walking paths.
