Nearly 400,000 Homes Hit by Water Hose Ban in South West
Households Face Strict Restrictions
South West Water has slapped a hose ban on around 390,000 homes across the county. Gardeners and car washers, beware: no more watering with hoses at home. The crackdown targets household use only, with businesses getting a free pass.
Why the Ban? Reservoirs Running Dangerously Low
The move aims to slash water demand by about 5%. It’s a must, as reservoir levels in the South West Water network are down by 17% compared to last year. Roadford Reservoir, a key water source, is holding just 70% of its capacity.
