Man Dies in Horror M5 Crash After Ford Fiesta Loses Control
A man has died following a dramatic three-vehicle smash on the M5 early this morning (Sunday, 13 September).
Fiesta Loses Control, Triggers Chain Reaction
Police were called at 5.20am after a Ford Fiesta lost control on the northbound M5. A lorry stopped to protect the Fiesta and check on the driver. But disaster struck when a second lorry slammed into the stationary first lorry.
Lorry Driver Killed, Fiesta Driver Arrested
The driver of the second lorry, a 37-year-old bristol/" title="Bristol" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Bristol man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin and the coroner have been informed.
The 21-year-old Fiesta driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving under the influence of drink or drugs. He has since been released under investigation.
Police Appeal for Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Investigators want to hear from anyone with dashcam footage or who witnessed the crash but hasn’t spoken to police yet.
