Memorial plaque unveiled by Living Bankside
On January 22, Living Bankside charity unveiled a plaque in Cathedral Square near 1 Bridge—the very spot where Jimi leapt into the river.
Bravery in the face of danger
Jimi and a man, Joaquin Garcia, were walking home from a central London restaurant when they both fell into the water. The coastguard and marine police rescued Joaquin and the woman, but Jimi was lost.
His body was recovered six hours later near London Bridge.
