Tragic Death on South Bermondsey Tracks Shuts Down Rail Line
A body was found on the tracks near South Bermondsey railway station just before 6:10 AM this morning (August 6), sparking a major emergency response.

“Officers were called to South Bermondsey railway station at 6:09 AM following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics attended, but sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”

The fatal incident forced the closure of lines between Peckham Rye and London Bridge, causing widespread disruption. National Rail confirmed the line closure on social media.
