The breakthrough came when PC Andrew from the Roads Policing Unit, a trained drone pilot, was called in along with Police Dog Wilma and handler PC Jessica Arnold. The drone gave aerial eyes, while Wilma searched on the ground.
Found Safe After Midnight Thanks to Sharp Eyes and Teamwork
After tracking a lead about a mile away, PC Green spotted a figure in the fields. Guided by his directions, PC Arnold and Wilma soon located the missing woman shortly after midnight.
She was unharmed and quickly given a lift home.
“When someone is reported missing, our priority is to find them as soon as possible before any harm can come to them,” said Sergeant Michael Gallon of Ashford Local Policing Team.
“We use all the tools and experts available — drone pilots and police dogs in this case — to bring people back safe.
“Finding this missing person was a true team effort. I am grateful to everyone who contributed to her safe return.”
