A mother fleeing Afghanistan gave birth to a baby girl while onboard a US evacuation aircraft. She was escaping the Taliban takeover when labour struck mid-flight.

The unnamed mother was on the second leg of her journey, flying from a Middle East staging base to the US Ramstein Air Base. During the flight, she experienced complications in labour. The aircraft commander quickly lowered the plane’s altitude to boost air pressure, stabilising her condition.
Baby Delivered Onboard, Both Doing Well
As soon as the plane landed, medics from the 86th Medical Group rushed onboard and delivered the baby in the cargo bay. Both mother and daughter were then taken to a nearby medical facility. Thankfully, they are both reported in good health.
