Chaos erupted at the Travelodge Hotel on High Street, Brentford, as flames tore through two floors early this morning. Staff and guests were forced to evacuate while firefighters battled the fierce blaze.
Bin Room Fire Spreads Fast
The fire started in a single-storey bin room on the ground floor before quickly spreading to an adjacent five-storey hotel. The inferno lit up the sky, sending smoke billowing across the area.
Massive Firefighting Effort Underway
Ten fire engines and 72 firefighters from across London are at the scene, conducting a systematic search of the buildings to ensure no one is trapped. Station Commander Nathan Hobson confirmed the severity:
“The whole of a single-storey bin room on the ground floor is alight. The fire spread to an adjacent hotel of five floors. Firefighters are carrying out a systematic search of the hotel.”
Emergency Calls Flood the Brigade
The London Fire Brigade received 17 urgent 999 calls after they were alerted at 2:52 AM. Crews from Chiswick and nearby stations joined the firefight.
