Father Missing After Boat Capsizes, Son Rescued
The drama unfolded around 3:30pm on Thursday, 29 May, when a small boat flipped over in Draycote Water reservoir. A man and his young son were thrown into the water. The boy was plucked to safety, uninjured and discharged after assessment by West Midlands Ambulance Service. But his father went missing.
Heartbreakingly, the man’s life jacket was found still aboard the overturned boat, while the boy had been wearing his at the time of rescue.

Specialist teams deployed advanced sonar, divers, and drones. Police remained at the scene throughout Friday, determined to find answers.

Draycote Water, along with its club, fishing facilities, and visitor areas, will stay closed this Saturday while authorities wrap up recovery efforts and investigate.
