Tragedy at Beckenham Place Park: The lifeless body of a missing 15-year-old boy was pulled from the lake late Friday night, ending a desperate hours-long search.

Massive Rescue Operation

Police were called to Beckenham Place Park shortly after 3pm on April 4 following reports that the teenager got into trouble while swimming. A huge response was immediately launched, involving specialist Metropolitan Police divers, the London Ambulance Service, and the London Fire Brigade.

Despite frantic efforts, the boy was recovered from the water at around 10:42pm and rushed to hospital. Sadly, he was pronounced dead soon after arrival.

Met Police have suspended the search for a 15-year-old boy at Beckenham Place Park after a body was found. The death is unexpected but not suspicious. The family have been informed and are receiving support,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
