Chiller Chaos Hits Gillingham Aldi – Shelves Stripped Bare!
A Gillingham supermarket sparked chaos after its chillers packed up, forcing Aldi on Gillingham Business Park to clear out all its cold products. Meat, fish and other chilled goodies vanished from shelves, leaving shoppers cold and furious.
Shoppers Greeted by Empty Shelves and Apology Signs
Instead of bargain-packed racks, customers faced a stark sign reading: “Due to unforeseen circumstances this stock is not going to be available today. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.” Social media erupted as frustrated fans vented their displeasure at the sudden shortage.
Aldi Scrambles to Fix Chiller Blunder but Customers Unimpressed
An Aldi spokesperson said: “Due to an issue with the chillers at our Gillingham store, we are currently stocking a reduced range of chilled products. We are working to resolve this as soon as possible.” But shoppers were less understanding. One raged, “You’d think they’d have got an engineer in straight away.” Another added, “I can drive 15 minutes to the next Aldi, but not everyone has that luxury. It’s a massive hassle.”
Critics Slam Lack of Warning and Poor Communication
The store has been slammed for failing to warn customers before they entered, with signs only placed on the empty units themselves. Clearly, the chilling breakdown left more than just food out in the cold.
