Cyclist Killed in Horror Crash on A4

A tragic collision on the A4 yesterday evening claimed the life of a cyclist. The fatal smash happened around 7:55pm on April 21, 2024, between Avebury and Calne.

The cyclist, a man in his 30s, collided with a Peugeot Boxer van. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but sadly, he died from his injuries on impact.

Driver Detained Then Released as Probe Continues

The Peugeot van’s driver, a man in his 60s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has since been released while police continue their investigation into the crash.

Road Closure and Witness Appeal

The A4 was shut between Cherhill and Beckhampton roundabout to allow for a full police inquiry. Authorities are urgently asking anyone who saw the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward.
