Dashcam Footage Released in Search for Missing Saltdean Teen

Sussex Police are appealing to drivers around Saltdean to check their dashcams for clues. Owen Harding, 16, vanished a week ago after leaving home at 6pm on Thursday, March 26.

Last Sighting Near A259 Clifftop

Two eyewitnesses spotted a boy matching Owen’s description near the A259 clifftop between 6:15pm and 6:30pm. Police hope dashcam clips could reveal where he headed next.

CCTV images show Owen walking south down Bannings Vale at 6:50pm, possibly turning into Hamsey Road. Another photo caught a similar-looking figure near a bus stop on Bevendean Avenue at 6:08pm, though police can’t confirm if it’s Owen.

Detectives urge anyone recognising this person to come forward.

Police Hunt Intensifies

Detective Chief Inspector Alasdair Henry said:

“One week on, we share the growing concern of Owen’s family and friends for his safety. We’ve been searching Saltdean and Telscombe Cliffs extensively and following every lead.”

Owen is known to have ties to Brighton, and there’s speculation he might have gone to see his girlfriend there. But police stress there’s no proof he has left Sussex.

“We thank the public for their support and ask everyone to continue following Government guidelines. We’re using all resources to search locally and will coordinate nationwide if evidence shows he has travelled beyond Sussex.”
