Millions Missing Out on £4,000 Pension Credit Boost
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) is sounding the alarm. Millions of pensioners could be claiming up to £4,000 a year through Pension Credit but aren’t. With living costs soaring, this extra cash could be a lifeline for many struggling over State Pension age.
Who Qualifies and What’s on Offer?
Pension Credit tops up low incomes, guaranteeing a minimum of £218.15 per week for singles and £332.95 for couples. If you’re on certain disability benefits, you could get an extra £81 a week. Crucially, you don’t even need to be receiving the State Pension to qualify.
Unlock More Support with Pension Credit
Martin Lewis, the Money Saving Expert who teamed up with the DWP, warns:
“Pension Credit is the key gateway benefit that opens the door to many other entitlements.”
Claiming it can also help you get council tax reductions, a free TV licence if you’re over 75, dental and optical help, and other benefits.
Don’t Leave Money on the Table
Despite its generosity, around 1.4 million pensioners already benefit, but millions more eligible remain unaware or hesitant. The DWP urges everyone eligible to check quickly and easily. You can apply online or call the Pension Credit helpline.
With living costs climbing, claiming Pension Credit isn’t just smart—it’s essential. It could ease your financial worries and open the door to vital extra help. Don’t miss out!
