Football Fans Clash in Swindon Station Riot
A riot erupted at Swindon Railway Station around 11:40 a.m. on Saturday, April 9, 2022. Tensions flared as rival Cardiff and Newport County football fans launched into a brutal brawl on the crowded platform.
Punches flew and bottles, cans, and other objects were hurled through the air. One bottle narrowly missed a police officer trying to keep the peace.
Chaos Amid Crowds
The station was packed with football supporters and members of the public, making the violent outbreak even more dangerous.
Police Hunt Key Witnesses
Officers have released photos of men they want to speak to, believing they hold vital information to help the ongoing investigation into the melee.
