- All Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) heading for Dover or the Eurotunnel must join the contraflow at Junction 8 on the M20.
- Vehicles ignoring signs and attempting alternate routes risk a hefty £300 penalty.
- Coast-bound traffic, including local freight and Europe-bound vehicles, must also stick to the contraflow on the London-bound carriageway.
- Speed limits in the contraflow zone are slashed to 50mph for safety.
- Junction 8 coast-bound slip road is now closed to all traffic.
