Chaos at Streatham Station as Person Hit by Train in Tunnel
Emergency Rush to Streatham Tunnel
Emergency services stormed Streatham Railway Station this evening after a person was reportedly struck by a train in the Streatham Tunnel, just off Streatham High Road near Tulse Hill.
The incident was first reported around 7pm on Friday, 28 March. British Transport Police (BTP) swiftly arrived at the scene, but it’s still unclear if the victim is a member of the public or railway staff.
A full-scale emergency response was launched immediately. Teams from the London Ambulance Service, London Fire Brigade, and the specialist London Ambulance HART Team are all on site, supported by Fire Rescue units.
Station Locked Down, Travel Chaos
Streatham Station is now closed to the public while a cordon remains in place. Emergency crews are working hard at the scene.
Train services through the area are either suspended or facing severe delays. Commuters are being urged to find alternative routes as the disruption continues.
BTP Leads Investigation
A British Transport Police spokesperson said:
“We were called to Streatham Railway Station at 7:08pm on Friday, 28 March, following reports that a person had been struck by a train in the tunnel area. Officers are on scene alongside colleagues from London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade. Enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.”
No information has been released about the victim’s identity or condition.
