Fire Erupts on A320 Engine at Heathrow Airport

Firefighters from Heathrow’s airport fire service and the London Fire Brigade rushed to tackle a blaze that broke out on an aircraft engine at London Heathrow.

Swift Response Contained Blaze

The fire ignited on the engine of an A320 plane that was on the ground Sunday afternoon. Emergency crews were alerted around 2pm after airport ground staff spotted smoke and flames on the Western Perimeter Road.

Teams quickly deployed foam to smother the fire, stopping it from spreading. A number of fire engines from both Heathrow Fire Service and the LFB worked together to make the engine safe and extinguish the flames.

Flights Unaffected, Passenger Status Unknown

It’s still unclear if any passengers were aboard during the incident or the current condition of the aircraft. Airport authorities confirmed the fire has not disrupted arriving or departing flights.

The London Fire Brigade have been approached for further details. More updates will follow.
