Early Morning Blaze Hits Drayton Homes
Hampshire Fire and Rescue raced to a major fire at 2.20am this morning on Solent Road, Drayton. Flames tore through the space between two houses, sparking panic as residents scrambled to evacuate.
Shed Fire Sparks Dangerous Spread
The fire started in a garden shed before leaping onto one of the houses. Crews battled hard to stop it engulfing the neighbouring property. Three fire engines from Cosham, Havant, and Portchester were called in to douse the inferno.
All Residents Safe, Precautions Taken
Thankfully, all occupants got out unharmed. Firefighters accounted for everyone before tackling the blaze. They also installed extra smoke alarms and gave fire safety advice to worried neighbours.
This quick response prevented what could have been a devastating disaster for the Drayton community.
