Blaze Breaks Out at Regent’s Park Nursing Home

A fire ripped through a first-floor flat in a four-storey residential nursing home on Little Albany Street, Regent’s Park. Most of the flat was badly damaged.

Firefighters Rescue Four from Smoke-Logged Flat

Brave firefighters, kitted out in breathing apparatus, rescued four people—two men and two women—from the burning building. They used internal staircases and fire escape hoods to bring them to safety.

“The fire escape hoods provide up to 15 minutes of protection against deadly gases like carbon monoxide and hydrogen cyanide,” a fire official explained.

Emergency Teams Rush to Scene

  • Fire Brigade was called at 7:19am.
  • Fire under control by 9:14am.
  • Four fire engines and about 25 firefighters from Euston, Paddington, and Soho stations attended.

Two people were treated at the scene, while two were taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service crews.

Investigation Underway

The cause of the blaze remains unknown and is currently under investigation by the authorities.
