First Pictures Emerge of Victims in Shocking Buckinghamshire Mid-Air Plane Crash
Tragedy struck Buckinghamshire on Friday, November 18th, as a mid-air collision claimed four lives. The victims have been named locally, revealing some heart-wrenching stories behind the crash.
Captain Mike Green: A Legend of the Skies
Among the dead was Captain Mike Green, one of Britain’s most senior and respected pilots. With over 30 years in the business, Green was known as a true gent of the skies who never took unnecessary risks. He was flying a barely three-month-old Guimbal G2 helicopter, registered on Valentine’s Day this year.
“Captain Mike Green was a Senior Instructor from Helicopter Services,” said an aviation insider. “He was one of the best, most experienced instructors we have. We are all in shock. This is a huge loss.”
Student Pilot Saavan Mundae Also Among Victims
The second aircraft involved, a Cessna 152, carried an 18-year-old student pilot, Saavan Mundae. Just nine weeks into his flying journey, Saavan was studying Air Transport with Commercial Pilot Training at nearby Bucks New University. Fellow students described the news as devastating.
“We are all gutted and completely cut up about this,” said one peer.
Emergency Services and Investigation Underway
Emergency services rushed to the crash site near Waddesdon Manor, close to Aylesbury, at 12:06 pm on Friday. Sadly, all four on board both aircraft were confirmed dead.
The Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) has launched a full probe. However, foul weather in the area is hampering efforts to uncover exactly what went wrong.
This tragic accident has sent shockwaves through the aviation community and beyond, leaving many mourning a profound loss.
