Four men received a total of 24 years behind bars after an Avon and Somerset Police investigation uncovered an organised motorcycle theft ring in Bristol. Marshall Thomas, 18, Brandon Carter, 22, Cameron Stevens, 22, and Sonnie Davies, 20, were sentenced on 3 July at Bristol Crown Court. They pleaded guilty to offences including high-value motorcycle theft, violent assaults, and kidnapping.
Targeting Valuable Bikes
The gang stole motorcycles and mopeds worth between £600,000 and £1 million. Police found they used stolen bikes to scout future thefts and used specialist tools to bypass security systems. The stolen vehicles were hidden in safe locations before being stripped and sold, often online.
Kidnapping And Violence
Thomas, Carter, and Davies were convicted of kidnapping and falsely imprisoning a 15-year-old boy accused of taking one of their motorcycles. The teenager was held against his will and assaulted, suffering facial and head injuries. Thomas, Carter, and Stevens were also linked to an attempted robbery outside Ashton Gate Stadium in September that left a motorcyclist injured.
Police Crackdown
The inquiry intensified after officers confronted Thomas and Stevens during a theft attempt on 8 December last year on Bridgwater Road, Bristol. This led to a broader investigation connecting multiple offences to the group and their eventual arrests.
Sentences Given
- Marshall Thomas: 10 years imprisonment
- Brandon Carter: 8 years imprisonment plus 6-year driving ban
- Cameron Stevens: 3 years imprisonment
- Sonnie Davies: 3 years imprisonment
