Brighton’s All Bar One Rises From the Ashes as Life-Changing Pub
Once the go-to cocktail hub on Pavilion Buildings, Brighton’s All Bar One shut for good after a devastating fire. But now, the spot’s back — and it’s not just pouring drinks. It’s serving up second chances.
2020 Fire Leaves Beloved Venue in Ruins
During the grim COVID lockdowns of 2020, a roaring blaze tore through the bar, gutting the premises. A brief reopening gave hope, but the chain soon pulled out. The prime city centre site sat empty, waiting for a new life.
The North Star: A Pub With a Purpose
Enter Brighton charity Team Domenica in 2025. They transformed the former bar into The North Star — a social enterprise pub and café that trains young people with learning disabilities and autism.
Since launching on 19 November 2025, this inclusive hotspot has become a community beacon. Trainees staff the pub with support from mentors, turning every pint and plate into funding for vital training and support programmes.
Food, Fun & A Community Spirit
Forget glossy corporate cocktails — The North Star is all about warmth and welcome. Their menu sports classic pub favourites, alongside vegan and vegetarian hits, all served in a stylish, fully accessible space.
The name says it all: a beacon of hope and guidance in Brighton’s creative, accepting heart. While traces of the old All Bar One linger outside, inside it’s a whole new story — where hospitality changes lives.
