RNLI Legend Queues 13 Hours to Pay Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II
Hastings RNLI stalwart Glenn Barry made the pilgrimage to London this weekend to honour Queen Elizabeth II. The Queen was the Patron of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, a role held by every reigning monarch since King George IV in the 1820s. This role boosts the charity’s profile and support nationwide.
Perfect Moment at Westminster Hall
After waiting an incredible 13 hours in line, Glenn finally entered Westminster Hall. There, he paid his respects as the Queen’s children stood vigil over her coffin. The poignant scene unfolded as thousands of mourners looked on in solidarity.
Yesterday was such an honour representing the RNLI. The public were incredibly supportive. After 13 hours, it was amazing to see the royals,” said Glenn.
