M25 Closure Alert: Key Stretch Shuts This Weekend
A vital section of the M25 is set to shut again from May 10 to 13. The closure targets the stretch between Junction 9 (Leatherhead) and Junction 10 (A3) in Surrey. This follows a similar shutdown in March and signals more closures planned for August and beyond.
Detours You Need to Know
Drivers will face diversions while the closure is in effect. Here’s the lowdown:
- Clockwise Diversion: Leave at Junction 10, Wisley (123). Over-Height Vehicles: Exit at Junction 9 (A243 Leatherhead), follow A243, left onto A309, then A307 Esher, A245, onto A3, and back on M25 at Junction 10.
- Anticlockwise Diversion: Most vehicles exit at Junction 10, continue on A3, then A240. Turn left at Esso roundabout onto A240, follow to A217 and rejoin M25 at Junction 8. Over-Height Vehicles: Exit at Junction 10, join A3, turn onto A245, then A307, A309, A243 and re-enter M25 at Junction 9.
Watch Out for ULEZ Charges!
Motorists should beware of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) charge in London, currently £12.50. Stick to the marked diversions to avoid this extra fee. Going off-route risks triggering the charge, hitting your wallet hard.
Plan Ahead to Dodge Headaches
Experts advise planning your journey carefully. Follow the signed diversions for a smoother, hassle-free trip during the M25 shutdown. Stay safe, avoid fines, and keep traffic flowing!
