M25 Crash Shuts Road Near Dartford Crossing
The M25/A282 is shut between Junction 2 and Junction 1A heading towards the Dartford Tunnels after a lorry smashed into the barriers. Emergency crews are at the scene.
Reports suggest the driver may have had a medical emergency before the crash.
Delays and Diversions Causing Chaos
Traffic delays are severe. Drivers hoping to use the Dartford Crossing should brace for long waits and disruption. If you’re heading northbound, try to use the M25 clockwise to avoid the closure.
Follow The Hollow Square Diversion
For those who must travel anti-clockwise or northbound via Dartford, a signed diversion is in place with the hollow square symbol. Here’s the route:
- Exit M25 at Junction 2 onto the Darenth Interchange roundabout; take the 2nd exit onto A282.
- At the next roundabout (M25 Junction 1B, Princes Road Interchange), take the 3rd exit onto A296 toward Bean and Bluewater.
- At the A296/B255 roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto B255 toward Greenhithe.
- At the next roundabout, take the 2nd exit along B255 past Bluewater.
- At A226/B255 roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto A206 toward Dartford Crossing.
- At Littlebrook Interchange’s first roundabout, take the 3rd exit toward Dartford Crossing.
- Cross A282 (M25) and at the second roundabout, take the 1st exit to rejoin M25 at Junction 1A heading to Dartford Crossing.
Expect Delays – Plan Ahead
Local drivers should expect disruption and extra journey time. Consider re-routing or delaying your trip. Variable message signs will update long-distance drivers about delays until the road reopens.
