The M271 northbound near Southampton is completely closed between Redbridge Roundabout (A35) and Junction 1 (Lordshill Industrial Estate, A3057). An HGV has overturned on the central reservation, spilling a large amount of diesel and causing chaos on the roads.

Follow This Diversion to Avoid the Traffic Nightmare
- From Redbridge Roundabout, follow signs with the black diamond symbol.
- Take the A35/A33 eastbound to Millbrook Roundabout.
- Exit onto Terbourba Way (A35).
- Turn left onto the A3057 Romsey Road northbound.
- At Brownhill Way roundabout, take the first exit onto Brownhill Way.
- Continue to Junction 1 of the M271.
