Five Speeders Nabbed Over 100mph Face Instant Driving Bans
Nearly 100 drivers were caught speeding in just two hours on the notorious A12 and A120, Essex Police have revealed. Among them, five motorists smashed through the 100mph barrier and now face immediate driving bans.
Speed Blitz Targets Essex’s Deadly Hotspots
The crackdown happened on Sunday, February 9, in Mountnessing and Takeley, where the Roads Policing Unit blitzed traffic on these risky routes linking East London and Essex.
- The busy A12 connects East London to Essex.
- The A120 snakes through Essex north of the capital.
Both roads are well-known speeding hotspots, sparking serious safety concerns.
Essex Police Issue Stark Warning
Those caught over 100mph get slapped with an instant ban. Others face penalty points, fines, or court summons.
“Speeding puts the safety of the driver and other road users at risk, and we cannot tolerate it. The five drivers caught doing more than 100mph now face an instant driving ban,” said Acting Sergeant Danny Wheeler.
“We carry out this activity day in, day out to make sure you can get from A to B safely, and we will continue to work every day to take those who put your safety at risk off the road.”
