Novichok Probe Hits Swindon as Air Ambulance Medic’s Car Seized
The Novichok poisoning investigation has just expanded, with a car seized in Swindon linked to the deadly case. Pictures show military-dressed personnel in gas masks wrapping a white Audi in plastic outside a residential street.
Swindon Joins Salisbury and Amesbury in Toxic Triangle
Swindon sits about 40 miles from Salisbury, where Sergei and Yulia Skripal were first attacked, and 33 miles from Amesbury, where Dawn Sturgess tragically died after exposure to the nerve agent. Sturgess, a mother of three, passed away Sunday night. Her partner, Charlie Rowley, remains critically ill.
Police suspect the pair handled a contaminated container — one they’re desperately hunting for. Wiltshire Police confirmed: “We have arranged the transportation of a car from an address in Swindon this evening in relation to the on-going incident in Amesbury.”
They added: “The public should not be alarmed. Those involved have the training and expertise to safely remove the vehicle.”
More Vehicles and Victims Under the Microscope
- Rowley was a passenger in a red Ford Transit van taken for testing.
- Three other men in the van tested clear of Novichok.
- A bus used by Rowley and Sturgess the night before also tested negative.
Police continue to focus on tracking down the contaminated container and warned the public: “Do not pick up needles, syringes, or strange containers.”
Links to Skripal Poisoning Spark High-Level Accusations
Detectives are probing if the Amesbury poisonings tie back to the Skripal attack.
Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson has slammed Russia, saying the attack on British soil is something “the world will unite with us in condemning”.
Russia denies involvement, calling the accusations baseless.
