A 31-year-old motorcyclist is fighting for his life after a brutal collision with a van on Park Lane, near Oxford Street, Westminster, this morning.
Crash Sparks Massive Central London Chaos
The smash happened at 7:22am, triggering major traffic mayhem in Central London. Authorities shut down Park Lane southbound between Oxford Street/Marble Arch and Upper Grosvenor Street, grinding key routes to a halt.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
The Metropolitan Police and London Ambulance Service responded immediately. The rider suffered a serious head injury and was raced to a major trauma centre as a priority.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service to a road traffic collision between a van and a motorcycle in Park Lane. The 31-year-old rider remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition. No arrests have been made.”
London Ambulance added: “We were called at 7.19am to reports of a collision at the junction of Park Lane and Upper Brook Street. We sent an ambulance crew, advanced paramedic, incident response officer, and clinical team manager. London’s Air Ambulance trauma team was also deployed. The man was treated for a head injury and taken by road to a trauma centre.”
