Major Blaze Hits Acorns Health and Leisure Club in Copthorne

Police are hunting for clues after a huge fire tore through Acorns Health and Leisure Club in Copthorne early Sunday morning, August 7.

Firefighters Rush to Scene

Officers rushed to the scene just before 7.40 a.m. following a call from West Sussex Fire & Rescue. Fire crews battled the blaze at the popular leisure centre.

Area Remains Off-Limits

The building remains unsafe. Both Sussex Police and West Sussex Fire & Rescue warn locals to steer clear as investigations continue. Police say there will be a strong presence in the area for some time.
