Newborn Baby and Parents Vanish Near M61 Motorway
Constance Marten, Mark Gordon, and their newborn baby have gone missing after their car broke down near Junction 4 (Farnworth, Bolton) on the M61 last night, Thursday 5 January 2023. The family left the vehicle safely and walked to the Anchor Lane bridge connecting the Highfield and Little Hulton areas — but have not been seen since.
Urgent Appeal: New Mum and Baby Need Medical Attention
Mark was last seen wearing dark clothes, while Constance, who speaks with a southern accent, was wearing a burgundy coat. The newborn was swaddled. Police warn Constance has very recently given birth, and neither she nor her baby have been medically checked.
“As a mum, I would like to make a direct appeal to Constance. I know this is a tough time and you’re probably scared, but our number one priority is your baby’s safety,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Michaela Kerr, GMP Head of Public Protection. “It’s vital you and your baby are assessed by medical professionals as soon as possible. Please contact emergency services or go to the nearest hospital, wherever that may be.”
Police Call for Public’s Help Across Greater Manchester
Detective Chief Superintendent Kerr also urged anyone with information to come forward. “If you know where this family are, please do not attempt to approach them. Contact emergency services immediately. Even the smallest clue may help us secure their safety.”
