Kent Gears Up to Welcome 1,624 Ukrainians Fleeing War

Kent could soon become home to 1,624 Ukrainians escaping the conflict, according to the latest government data. So far, 709 local sponsors have signed up to the Homes for Ukraine scheme, offering refuge across the county.

Kent County Council Pulls Out All the Stops

KCC is making sure these refugees settle in smoothly. They’re running DBS checks on all host families to guarantee safety. English lessons are on hand for Ukrainian adults, while children get access to schools and education through the Kent Adult Education service. Primary and secondary schools across Kent are ready to welcome Ukrainian youngsters.
