Kent Test Results Out Today: Thousands Find Out Their Secondary School Fate

Today is a big day for 17,049 pupils who sat the Kent Test last month. From 4pm on Tuesday 18 October, families who applied online will get an email from Kent County Council with their child’s results. Those registered online can also check scores after 5pm by logging in.

But don’t panic if your email is delayed. Due to the high volume, some messages might arrive late, beyond the council’s control. Families without a valid email will receive their child’s results by first-class post.

Over 5,100 Pupils Ready for Grammar School – What Next?

Of the Kent-resident children who took the test, 5,147 were judged suitable for grammar school. Kent County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Shellina Prendergast, urged calm for families disappointed by results:

“Kent has a rich mix of high-quality selective and non-selective schools. Families whose child didn’t get the results they hoped for should explore all options before applying for a school place.”

Secondary school applications are open now and close on Monday 31 October 2022.

Grammar Test Pass Doesn’t Guarantee a Place

Passing the selective assessment means children can be considered for Kent grammar schools but doesn’t secure a spot. Parents must list preferred schools on the Secondary Common Application Form (SCAF) before National Offer Day on Wednesday 1 March 2023.

Places are awarded according to each school’s admissions criteria, with information available at 123.
