Tragic Crash in Wargrave Claims Lives of Police Officer and Pensioner

A fatal collision on the A4 Bath Road, Wargrave, has left a serving roads policing officer and a 91-year-old pensioner dead. The crash occurred around 1.50pm this afternoon and involved a car and a motorcycle ridden by PC James Dixon.

PC James Dixon Dies in Horror Smash

PC Dixon, an on-duty officer from Loddon Valley police station, was riding his motorcycle when the crash happened. He was known for starring in the popular police reality TV show Road Wars on Sky1 from 2003 to 2010. Tragically, both he and a passenger in the car, a 91-year-old woman, died at the scene.

Car Driver Injured but Stable

The driver of the car, a woman, sustained injuries and was rushed to hospital. Thankfully, her condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Road Closure and Investigation Underway

  • The A4 Bath Road remains closed and will do so for the rest of the evening, with emergency services still at the scene.
  • Authorities advise motorists to avoid the area.
  • Thames Valley Police have referred the case to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) as protocol after fatalities involving a police officer on duty.
