Volunteer Marshal Rob Foote Killed in Horror Crash
Rob Foote, former Mayor of Epsom, has tragically died while volunteering as a marshal at the famous Brands Hatch motor racing circuit. The fatal accident happened on Saturday 31st July at 3pm during a British Automobile Racing Club (BARC) Car Championship event. A car spun off the track, and despite urgent efforts from medics, Rob succumbed to his injuries.
Beloved Community Leader and Skilled Engineer
Rob was no stranger to serving others. A highly skilled engineer, he worked in the aircraft industry and as a motor vehicle technician locally. For years, Rob represented the residents of Cuddington on Epsom & Ewell Borough Council, even serving as Mayor in 2014/15. He was a fixture on key council committees and was known for helping countless locals with their concerns.
Remembered for Kindness and Dedication
During his mayoral term, Rob and his late wife Rosemary launched the Epsom Buses Silver Service. Many locals also knew Rob as a valued part-time driver for Epsom Coaches. His talents and generosity were far-reaching, always ready to give his time freely—whether in council chambers or on the race circuit.

Rob’s death comes heartbreakingly soon after the loss of his wife Rosemary. The Epsom community mourns the loss of a truly dedicated public servant and kind soul.
