Urgent Search for Missing Firefighter Anthony Knott in Lewes

Sussex Police and London Fire Brigade are ramping up efforts to find missing firefighter Anthony Knott. The 33-year-old has been nowhere to be seen since Friday, 20 December. Specialist teams are combing Pells Pool and Pellbrook Cut in Lewes as hope grows faint.

Desperate Search Intensifies

Anthony, from Orpington, Kent, vanished after visiting the Lamb pub on Fisher Street, where he was last spotted just before 7.30pm. Officers, joined by volunteers and other emergency services, have extended their search to cover the surrounding areas. Detective Chief Inspector Alasdair Henry expressed deep concern:

“It has now been a number of days since Anthony was reported missing and we are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare. Our specialist teams have carried out extensive searches with support from volunteers and other emergency services.”

Local Businesses and CCTV Lead the Hunt

The police have questioned local businesses, including bus, rail, and taxi companies, and reviewed CCTV footage. So far, there’s no sign Anthony has left Lewes.

Detective Henry added:

“There is no information available to us at this stage to suggest Anthony left the Lewes area and our searches will continue to focus in this location. This remains a very difficult time for Anthony’s family and friends, and we are seeking the information and answers they so desperately need.”
