Urgent Search Underway for Boy Missing in River Stour

Kent Police are scrambling to find a boy feared drowned after he reportedly fell into the River Stour near Sandwich. Officers rushed to Richborough Road at 1.20pm on Saturday, August 17, 2019, following reports of the chilling incident.

The search operation involves Kent Police, Coastguard, Kent Fire and Rescue Service, and the South East Coast Ambulance Service, all working tirelessly by the riverbank. Superintendent Amanda Tillotson urged the public to keep clear, saying:

“While we appreciate the public’s concern and offers to help, we strongly advise people to stay away from the water. This is vital for their own safety and allows emergency teams to concentrate fully on finding the missing boy.”
