Blaze Erupts on Bloomsbury’s Peabody Estate
Forty firefighters raced to tackle a fierce fire tearing through a property on the Peabody estate in Bloomsbury, Central London.
The emergency call came just before 10am. Six fire engines stormed Herbrand Road, focusing on Block D of the Peabody Trust estate.
Road Closures and Rescue Efforts Underway
Fire crews, kitted out in breathing apparatus, were sent inside amid reports that people may be trapped inside the burning building. Authorities have sealed off nearby roads to keep the area safe.
“We’re working hard to account for all residents and contain the blaze as quickly as possible,” a firefighter said.
