Blaze guts pallets outside building after generator sparks fire
Pallets and Roof Damaged in Fiery Disaster
A stack of pallets went up in flames, scorching part of a first-floor roof. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
Generator Overheat Sparks Inferno
The fire broke out when a backup power generator overheated, igniting nearby cardboard boxes and pallets. The blaze quickly spread to the stored items outside the building.
Firefighters Race to Control Flames
Leading Firefighter Nick Matthews, at the scene, revealed the drama: “Crews were initially called to reports of a bin alight. As we approached, we saw an orange glow behind a brick wall.”
“Upon investigation, we found a stack of pallets and cardboard boxes burning. They had been stored too close to the overheating generator, which sparked the fire.”
“Our crews worked incredibly hard to control the fire and stop it from spreading further.”
