The explosion happened on Brantwood Road, sending a dividing timber wall crashing down. Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters rushed to the scene, battling the blaze and assessing the damage.

The London Fire Brigade was called at 5.15pm and wrapped up operations by 8.17pm. Firefighters from Tottenham and Walthamstow stations worked to control the scene.
