Arsenal Tube Station Shut After Daylight Stabbing

Arsenal station in North London’s Highbury has been shut tight following a shocking broad daylight stabbing, police have confirmed.

Police Launch Major Investigation

The London Underground stop has been closed since around 4.55pm, with a large police cordon blocking off not just the station but several nearby homes along Gillespie Road.

Transport for London (TfL) warned commuters: “This station is closed while the police conduct an investigation.” The Piccadilly line trains will not stop at Arsenal until further notice, meaning travellers must find alternate routes.

Teenager Stabbed in Head – Hospitalised

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said officers rushed to Gillespie Road at 1.18pm on Wednesday, 19 April after reports of a stabbing.

“Officers found a teenage boy with a stab wound to his head. He has been taken to hospital and his injuries are not life-threatening,” the spokesman stated.

No arrests have been made yet, with detectives continuing inquiries at the scene.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

A crime scene remains in place at Arsenal station. Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101, quoting reference CAD 5054/19APR.
