Smoke Scare on St Faith Ferry Sparks Emergency Fire Response
Fire crews rushed to the St Faith ferry this afternoon after passengers spotted smoke in the lounge on the Fishbourne to Portsmouth crossing. The alarm was raised just after 3.30pm, triggering a major response from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service.
Six Fire Engines Race to the Scene
Nearly half a dozen pumping appliances from Portsmouth scrambled to meet the ferry as it docked safely at the Wightlink terminal. Passengers were allowed to disembark while firefighters boarded the vessel to investigate the source of the smoke and check for any signs of fire.
